      Is the Vivint HomeEssentials bundle truly free?

      Yes. The Vivint Doorbell Camera Pro, Vivint Smart Thermostat are available at no cost to you as a Discount Power customer and the equipment is yours to keep. As long as you remain a Discount Power customer, your monthly subscription fee for the Vivint app will be waived. However, if you choose to leave Discount Power, Vivint will charge a monthly subscription fee to your payment method on file. Please note that the subscription pricing is subject to change. $14.99 or the then-prevailing subscription fee will apply.1

      Please note that a monthly subscription fee of $14.99, or the then-prevailing subscription fee, would only be charged if you are no longer a Discount Power customer. The fee is subject to change based on changes to Vivint's terms and conditions. The fee covers Vivint app control and personalization of your smart thermostat and doorbell camera, in which you can:

      •  Stream 24/7 live video and recorded clips, so you never miss a moment
      •  Customize your doorbell camera and thermostat settings based on your preferences
      •  Answer the door from anywhere, using the convenient two-way talk and one-way video feature
      •  Activate Smart Deter to alert porch pirates that they're being watched
      •  Stay informed with instant notifications sent directly to your Vivint app

      This is to cover any potential expenses, including purchasing additional Vivint products or the monthly subscription fee and site preparation, if you decide to cancel your Discount Power electricity service.1 

      You can keep the equipment and continue being a Vivint customer for only $14.99 per month, though please be aware that this fee may change over time. If you choose to cancel your Vivint subscription, you'll lose access to Vivint app features, such as two-way talk through the doorbell camera and thermostat scheduling.

      All components of this bundle are designed to work together for optimal comfort, control, and savings. At this time, the bundle cannot be separated.

      Participation in the Empower Hours Smart Thermostat program is required. However, you’ll always be in control, and can change your thermostat temperature whenever you want.

      Yes, we can replace all thermostats in your home. When the Vivint technician arrives, just let them know how many thermostats you would like to have installed.

      If you’re not satisfied with the equipment or service, you can contact a Vivint customer care agent to discuss your options. They offer a straightforward process for removing or switching back to your old devices. Simply reach out to them, and they'll guide you through the steps to ensure a smooth transition.

      Absolutely! As long as you remain a Discount Power customer, we'll install new equipment in your new home. Just give us a heads-up before your move.

      No. You can leave the equipment at your previous home for the new homeowners to enjoy. All they need to do is contact Vivint to establish service.

      Yes. Each residential service address powered by a Discount Power term plan is eligible for this value-added smart home bundle.

      The site preparation fee only applies when additional wire runs or other technical preparation is needed to complete your installation.

      The site preparation fee is designed to ensure the best possible experience if your home needs additional work. We strongly encourage customers to include this service as part of their installation. There will be no penalty for not paying the site preparation fee.

      In some cases, a camera may require a new power wire to be installed. If that’s needed, your Vivint technician will take care of everything during the installation—no preparation is required on your part. To provide power to the camera, the technician may create a small, discreet opening in an interior wall, neatly secure the wire along the trim, and connect it to a nearby indoor outlet using equipment provided by Vivint. We take care to keep the installation clean and professional.

      The need depends on your home's existing doorbell wiring and power setup. If you don't currently have a wired doorbell, a wire run will likely be needed to power your Vivint Doorbell Camera. Even if you do have an existing wired doorbell, additional power may be required to ensure your doorbell camera performs at its best. Your Vivint technician can evaluate your setup during the installation and determine the best solution.

      Disclaimers

      1 Monitoring and other features available through the Vivint app are complimentary if you maintain electricity service through Discount Power. If you leave Discount Power, a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 (or the then-applicable fee) from Vivint for the app and its features will automatically apply. You will be required to provide a payment method to Vivint at the time of installation to establish your account. You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting Vivint directly.

      2To receive the annual bill credit, you must participate in at least 50% of total Empower Hours event hours, and no less than one Empower Hours event, in any Program Year (first Program Year will be measured from date of enrollment). Your participation will be measured based on your performance during eligible event hours, rounded to the nearest minute. Program Years run from November 1 to October 31. Bill credit will be applied to your Discount Power account within two billing cycles of the Program Year end date. Discount Power account must be active at the time of the bill credit award to receive the credit; credits are non-transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Discount Power may offer future bill credit promotions for participation in subsequent Program Years; offer terms are subject to change.
