SWITCH HOLD CONFIRMATION
Thank you for choosing Discount Power. We’re here to help you understand how to request service at your address.
A switch hold is a restriction on an address that prevents someone from opening a new electricity account or switching to a new provider.
When moving to a new address, you could encounter a switch hold from the previous occupant. If you’re a new occupant and NOT associated with the previous occupant, you’ll need to submit additional documentation for review.
To submit your request for service, you’ll need to fill out the New Occupant Confirmation form and choose one of the supporting documents listed below. Please note that your request for service will remain on hold until we receive both valid forms. We must also obtain approval from the TDSP.
If you’re the person switching electric providers (or if you are associated with that person), you’ll need to contact your current electric provider for assistance in removing the switch hold. Once the switch hold is lifted from the current electric provider, please contact us to schedule your request for service.
A Continuous Service Agreement (CSA) is an existing agreement in place between the property owner and the electricity service provider that allows continuous electric service at the residential property without interruption.
Please complete and return a notarized Affidavit of Landlord and New Occupant Confirmation form.
If you have an active CSA, submit the Continuous Service Agreement form.
To ensure a quick response, please submit your information via email, as mail deliveries will take longer to receive.
